Dear Fellow Adventurer,

Rob Gustke, who headed the world-class Fountain Valley School of Colorado Outdoor Education program, has been one of the very most important formative influences in my life. When he invited me to join him on a three-month sea kayak expedition of the length of the Baja California peninsula, in the Sea of Cortez, I knew it was a unique opportunity that shouldn't be passed up, despite my complete inexperience with sea kayaking.

What stories of magnificent human experience will we pass on to the children of the children of our children?
